Chicago

Got off the plane (fanciest bathrooms I've ever seen in the Chicago O'hare airport lol), grabbed a rail map and took the train to my hostel! Checked into my hostel and it's super cute! Right on the 'L' so I can get anywhere really easy. It has a nice little deck on top with a view of downtown. Everyone here is dressed like they're about to go skiing... makes sense because it's bone chilling cold and windy ☃️❄️ One of my uber drivers said it might get 'cold tomorrow' 😂 Like 2 degrees with -10 wind chill isn't already cold! Some people aren't wearing gloves which I think is insane! Definitely forgot my hand warmers but Walgreens had them right by their door ready for me to buy! Everyone talks like Fiona Gallagher which I love! I ate at Pizano's Pizza and got a cheese Chicago style deep dish pizza... super delicious! 🍕 Also went to a comedy show at the Up comedy club.... highly recommend seeing 2nd city! Went to take a picture in front of the 'bean' at night but my phone got too cold and stopped working for about 30 minutes. I hopped in a Starbucks and grabbed some warm tea and let my phone heat up. Got my pic with the bean! 🤗 I love this city so far! Going on a hop on hop off tour tomorrow to see the main sites 🤗

       

                                                   

Took the Big Bus Chicago Tour today and it was wonderful! Everything is still decorated for Christmas which is spectacular! Bone chilling cold again today, even colder than yesterday but I loved it! The bus driver said it was -30 two weeks ago and the entire top of Lake Michigan was frozen!! First place I 'hopped off' was the Adler space museum. I think I spent three hours in this magical place! Got to see an actual spacecraft from 1966! And I got to touch a real meteorite! Literally the highlight of my life 🤗 Saw the Navy Pier and had some more amazing Chicago pizza there! Saw Trump Tower 👎 Yuck! Went on a Prohibition tour which was amazing (see the last collage). Got to see four 'speak easies' that were open during the prohibition! Also saw secret doors and tunnels used during that time! Loved this tour and would highly suggest it! Ended the day at a place called 'Blue Chicago.' I enjoyed it so much I completely forgot to take a selfie 😂 Just a nice blues bar with live music 🤗 Tomorrow I'm going to sites I didn't have time to see or want to see again 😁 I would totally visit this beautiful city again!

Got up early to get in line for the Skydeck at Willis Tower. Standing on the ledge was super exciting and horrifying 🤗 Took a trip to the Gallagher house and it was magical! A couple little differences were the iron door on the front and the windows weren't boarded up on the bottom floor. I will totally be coming back to this beautiful city in the summer and taking the Architechural River Tour that was recommended by like six people here 🤗 It only runs in the warmer months because the river is frozen over right now 😁 ❄️
