Paris, France
Flew overnight from Atlanta to Paris (8.5 hours) and slept like a baby the entire time (thanks to benadryl and my whoolip!) The lady that sat beside me on the plane only spoke French which was so cool! She was so nice, even helped me put my backpack in the overhead bin! When I got to Paris I was directed to the taxis. Those taxi drivers are fearless! The streets are all cobblestone and there are no lanes! And no stop signs! You just kinda go in the direction that you want... cars... bicycles... scooters... pedestrians... it's a complete cluster f*** but it totally works! I didn't see one accident. After paying $55 to go 9.5 miles from the airport to my hotel I learned how to use the subway for about $2. ๐
Everyone loved my name! There was even a street named after me (of course it was named after me because I'm the only person in the world with this name ๐). I felt like I was wearing a gigantic sign that said 'I'm an American and I'm lost' because everyone was super nice and asking if I needed help ๐ Stephanie (the bestie) said my work out attire and tennis shoes gave it away ๐ I saw the Eiffel Tower which was amazing and got to see the light show at 8pm (goes off every hour).
Took the Big Bus Tour around the city which I highly recommend! I was one of four on the top level on the double decker bus, but it had the best view so I suffered through the wind and cold ๐❄️
Saw a Trump protest! Went to the Louvre and got a selfie with the real Mona Lisa! Went to Notre Dame which was stunning! Such a beautiful building! Apparently all of the locks have been removed from the love lock bridge due to structural concerns ๐ฉbut there was a little spot they hadn't blocked off with plexiglass that I put my little lock on ๐ค Climbed the Arc de Triomphe which was pretty cool! Got some amazing pictures of the city at night from the top. I saw the replica in New York City a few years ago! Posted pics from New York City and Paris ๐
Ate at a fantastic little restaurant called Chez Toinette recommended by Stephanie and Dane. Best cheese ravioli (insert fancy French name here) and vanilla creme brรปlรฉe I've ever had! Ended the night with a show at the Moulin Rouge! Super amazing show and I highly recommend it! It was a cross between Cirque de soleil, porn and a circus ๐ At one point an entire swimming pool came out of the floor (where the dancers just were) filled with 25 foot anacondas and a topless girl (they were all topless?!?) half my size jumped in and did some creepy swimming dance with the snakes! It was like something out of a really weird dream! Amazing show! I've never seen anything quite like it.
Paris is such a beautiful city and I'd love to come back in the future! Off to the airport to catch my flight to Mumbai India in about three hours, will post pictures tomorrow night ๐ Thanks for reading ๐ค
*little side note, the last pic popped up on my Facebook today. Exactly 7 years since my mommy took me to my very first pharmacy school interview! Man how time flies and how times have changed! ๐ค
